The e-Swabhimani is an initiative of the Information Communication technology agency of Sri Lanka aimed at recognizing excellence in digital content creation. It is expected that this national award would stimulate a greater interest in the development of a wide range of content and services that would serve the needs of society. 6th e-Swabhimani programme was launched for this year and attracted over 200 applications.  26 winning submissions were recognized with the presentation of  e-Swabhimani Awards at a colourful ceremony presided over by the Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) , Mr. P.G.Kumarasinghe  and other distinguished persons.

Description:  The e-Farms empowers rural agricultural communities by improving their technical capabilities, enabling informed decision making and planning. It use the infrastructure of the Vidatha Resource Centres to facilitate community access to technology transfer agencies like the ITI  and access to markets through links to buyers. It has valuable web-based e-learning content on - adding value to primary produce, post-harvest treatment, industry standards, good manufacturing practices and statutory requirements. It has a video conference link with the ITI for training and a mobile application for updating producer information and buyer requirements.
