The e-Swabhimani is an initiative of the Information Communication technology agency of Sri Lanka aimed at recognizing excellence in digital content creation. It is expected that this national award would stimulate a greater interest in the development of a wide range of content and services that would serve the needs of society. 6th e-Swabhimani programme was launched for this year and attracted over 200 applications.  26 winning submissions were recognized with the presentation of  e-Swabhimani Awards at a colourful ceremony presided over by the Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) , Mr. P.G.Kumarasinghe  and other distinguished persons.

Ransara Radio

Ransara Radio is a partnership between a rural telecenter, the Balangoda Nenasala, and an IT company, Microimage.
Ransara, usinga commercial quality broadcasting studio in the Nenasala, uses broadcasting software- similar to that used by the major commercial channels in Sri Lanka – to broadcast the programme over the internet.
Announcers are drawn from the community and trained in broadcasting techniques and software usage. Time is provided for multiple district telecenters – an hour per week per center – to produce news and programmes from their districts.

Toppigala / Jamis Banda

PC games is a series of locally developed three dimensional computer games – Jamis Banda, Colonel C and Mission Toppigala. It uses attractive graphic and realistic environment contextualized to local situations while leveraging on the principles of Physics. Very realistic sound effects add to its character. The opening chapter of the games is three dimensional video formats and gives an introduction to the game. The voice over is available in both local languages – Sinhala/ Tamil.
